Balawan - Didiet on Jazz Buzz

Mostly, Jazz is stand for elite and complicated music. Jazz is not a common music for some people to understand.  But recently, Jazz becomes more attractive to obtain many people. Now, Jazz music show was held in various concept to attract more people to enjoy. Salihara Jazz Buzz is the series of Jazz Music Concert that show of new composition of jazz. Jazz with many variant. In the first week, Saturday, January 12, 2013, Balawan and Didiet were performed.

Guitar of Balawan was equipped with MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) that deliver keyboard or percussion sound. While Didiet’s violin can obtain various sound. Guitar and violin are great combination to improve and develop Jazz. Their music is collaboration of modern and traditional. While Fajar Adi complete the collaboration with bass guitar. I Wayan Balawan, as known Balawan is an Indonesian guitarist, composer and singer. He plays double neck guitar masterly and develops “8 fingers touch” technique. Sigit Aditya (Didiet) is a violist. After graduate from Universitas Negeri Jakarta, he has finished his first album with his band, Kulkul, which carry out collaboration of Balinese traditional and fusion. Didiet has been a guest on many international music festivals and has done collaboration with senior Indonesian musician like Purwacaraka, Erwin Gutawa, and Dwiki Dharmawan.

Their jam session was shown in casual concept, like their daily life. It was fun and enjoyable concert. 10 composition were played greatly.
